Danish championship 2009 - winner: Darfy's Barbette

On 12 and 13 December the Danish Championship 2009 was held at Mattrup Estate.

32 competitors had qualified for this 2-day trial. 27 competitors ran on day 1, of these three Trompeterbakken dogs: Dina, Elvira & Grace.

The trial was judged by the following experienced judges: Torben Poulsen, Carsten Andersen and Jon Andersen; steward was Ulla Lindner.

On day 1 we had five drives. The judges were strict and consistent - as they said in the morning the goal was to find a winner and at this trial there was no room for errors. At the end of the day 10 competitors remained, including Elvira, who had had three retrieves.

On day one gun's choice was: Darfy's Barbette.

Day two started well for Elvira as she eyewiped another dog. But on the next retrieve luck vanished. She was sent on a blind retrieve at 300 metres on an open grass field. Despite Elvira working in the right area, she never found the bird. Neither did dog number two. The bird was subsequently brought by Seahill High Wind Twister.

Six dogs were still in the trial.

After the final drive and a good lunch the result was announced:

1st winner: DKBRCH DKJCH Darfys Barbette

2nd winner: DKJCH Seahill High Wind Twister

3rd winner: Seahill High Wind Phiphi

4th winner: DKJCH Bierspool Blackbill of Lakedown

Diploma of merit: NOJCH DKBRCH Searover Kits Duke

Congratulations.
