Puppy diary

Week 7

At the age of seven weeks the puppies were tested. On the basis of the test and our observations it was decided which puppy should go to which family. They were also chipped. We took them for walks every day. Now everybody is ready to leave us.

Week 6

Now we take the puppies on small walks on our grounds. They enjoy these walks and investigate everything they meet on their way. After these walks it is very quiet in the puppy box as the puppies sleep for a long time.

Week 5

This week the puppies realized that it is fun to run on a wooden terrace. The door to the outside is open most of the day, and they often do their business outdoor. People of different sizes and ages have visited them. They love the company of human beings.

Week 4

This week the puppies have become more active. They play more and more with each other. And they often carry a sock in their mouth. We have started to serve them dog food.

Week 3

We notice that the pupies have started to use their sight and hearing senses. They play with each other. They have become better at using their legs. When they were 20 days old, they wanted to experience life outside their box. They were allowed to do so.

Friday they had their nails cut, and everybody was painted with a colour to enable us to observe them individually.

The smallest puppy weighs 1340 gras, the biggest puppy weighs 1760 grams. The average weight is 1625 grams. Elvira's is fed more and more every day.

Week 2

The puppies are now two weeks old. The smallest puppy weighs 960 grams, the largest puppy 1370 grams.

They sleep and eat and sleep and eat. They have opened their eyes. And they had their nails cut.

Week 1

The puppies are now one week old. The smallest puppy weighs 650 grams, the largest puppy 900 grams, the average weight is 800 grams.

Everybody seems happy. The puppies do nothing but sleep and eat. Elvira looks after them as she should. Our only job is to make sure that Elvira is fed regularly.

Birth

Friday morning Elvira gave birth to her first puppy. Within four hours she had given birth to six healthy puppies. Elvira managed everything herself - we were only spectators. The smallest puppy weighs 300 grams, the biggest puppy 415 grams. The average weight is 375 grams.

Puppy gallery

Before our puppies leave us, they are

    • Registred in the Danish Kennel Club (have a DKK pedigree)
    • ID chipped
    • Raised in our house

When we have a litter, we put great effort into socialising the puppies before they move to their new families. Tompeterbakken puppies have been introduced to game, shots, kitchen utensils, vacuum cleaners, music, television, other dogs, human beings, the wood, etc.

Do you want to know more about our dogs, please contact us and arrange a visit to our house.
