Puppy diary
Weeks six and seven
Everybody in the litter develops as it should. They are very social, i.e. they love human contact. Every day we take them out for a walk, and Thorleif gives them two or three retrieves every day. The puppy test has been arranged for next week, and they will also be chipped next week, which is their last week at our house. We'll miss them all.
Week five
At five weeks the puppies are very active. When they do not sleep, they play and fight with each other. They are very similar when it comes to temper. Now we can see that the heads of the bitches are smaller than that of the dogs. Often our puppy buyers visit us, and the puppies enjoy the company of human beings.
Sunday we carried them to a grass area outside. This was their first outing. Now they all enjoy going in and out of the door when it is open.
Weeks three and four
The puppies are now almost four weeks old, and they are developing nicely. They are good at leaving their box to go to the toilet. They play with each other and seem to enjoy the company of human beings. They had their nails cut. They have started to retrieve socks that we put in their area. Moreover, we have started to give them food and in that connection we introduce them to the come whistle.
Week two
The puppies are now two weeks old. They have opened their eyes, and they grow every day. The smallest puppy weighs 1080 grams and the biggest one 1305 grams.
Week one
The first week went well. Dagmar nurses the puppies as she should. The only thing we have to do is to feed her whenever she is hungry, which she is very often.
All puppies are eating well. When they were born, the smallest puppy weighed 385 grams and the largest puppy 470 grams. After a week the smallest one weighs 660 grams and the largest one 785 grams.
